Experience the rich heritage of Native American culture with this stunning deck of playing cards, featuring exquisite illustrations from the historic History of the Indian Tribes of North America by Thomas L. McKenney and James Hall, with supplemental art by Virginijus Poshkus.
This collection originated in 1825 when Colonel Thomas L. McKenney, head of the Bureau of Indian Affairs, commissioned portraits of the distinguished tribal leaders visiting Washington, D.C. to conduct business with the War Department. Concerned that these significant figures might eventually fade from history, McKenney sought to preserve their likenesses for future generations. These iconic portraits were primarily captured by renowned artist Charles Bird King, with additional contributions by esteemed painters such as John Otto Lewis, S.M. Charles, G. Cooke, A. Ford, Shaw, and J.M. Stanley.
